About
the Author
Rod
was born in Austin, Texas on April 26th to Rene' Balli
& Olga Botello. Soon after, his parents divorced and
within a few years, Olga found herself raising three children
on her own. The middle child, Rod gladly found himself helping
his mother around the house and taking care of the youngest
(Joe). A natural in sports, he loved baseball and you could
often find him playing in the fields of his nearby apartment
or in the local city league until he found martial arts at the
age of fourteen. Forever creating in life, Rod was always
doing something, whether playing sports, drawing, or playing with friends.
By the age of twelve, he had written his first country song, by fifteen he received his
first black belt in the martial arts just prior to the family
moving to his stepfathers home town of Dortches NC. That year,
while still a freshman in junior high he started his own
martial arts school in Rocky Mt., NC and was probably one of
the youngest people to ever do so. His school ran for two
years before finally moving to Florida. Later in life, in
three divisions, he went on to become a five time Florida
State Sport Karate Champion in two different leagues as well
as a one time ISKA, US Open World Weapons champion. In
high school, his electives were drama, art, and typing.
Seeking a better life, at seventeen he dropped out of high
school moving to Florida, with the promise to his mother that
he would graduate. He kept that promise almost seven years
later by obtaining his GED at the Austin Community College in
Austin, TX.
The
move lasted about a year when he unexpectedly found himself
bouncing around the country to Texas, North Carolina and back
to Texas to finally meet his father for the first time in
seventeen years. At age nineteen, he finally decided to pursue his dream of
becoming an actor and later found himself moving to New York, then
on to LA. After three more moves to Texas, LA and back, he
found himself heading back to LA when his mother suggested
moving to Clearwater, Fl. to establish a business owning real
estate. Having little luck getting his acting career off the
ground, he agreed to try it for two years. Desiring to own
real estate someday, he had been studying for four years
prior. With the help of a family friend, their business took
off, giving Rod some financial success. Within a few years, he
found himself with many followers in the field and began
writing courses on the subject of real estate investment. The
writing proved positive for him and his work spun off into
books. The nonfiction work gave him the confidence to write
fiction and he has now crossed over into the fiction field. In
an unusual turn of events, he has come full circle back to the
arts field where he began.
As
well as an author, Rod has had numerous accomplishments in many
areas of his life. He is one of the youngest authors in history to ever publish
three books in one year within three separate genres. Today,
he spends his time between two companies, writing, martial
arts, acting and humanitarian efforts.
